The Renault Clio range covered by this manual was first introduced in France in May 1990, and to the UK in March 1991, to replace the popular Renault 5 range of cars. This manual vāciņi models fitted with petrol engines, bet cits models in the range were available with Diesel engines.
The Clio range was produced ar 1.1, 1.2, 1.4, 1.7, and 1.8 liter single overhead camshaft (SOHC) types, and un 1.8 liter double overhead camshaft (DОНС) type, which is fitted to the performance orientated 16-valve model. Apart from the 1.1 liter unit, all of the engines available in the UK fuel used-injection, although carburetor engines were available in other markets. All the engines are of a well-proven design and, provided regular maintenance is carried out, are unlikely to give trouble.
The Clio was available in d - and 5-door Hatchback and D-door Van body styles, with a wide range of fittings and interior trim depending on the model specifikācija.
